About the customer
As a postdoctoral researcher at the CeMM Research Center for Molecular Medicine in Vienna, Rob ter Horst analyzes immunological data using bioinformatics, machine learning, and statistics. His focus is on studying the immune system and identifying factors that influence the immune response.
Rob ter Horst is conducting a comprehensive self-measurement project in which he performs weekly brain MRIs, sleep EEGs, and analyses of his gut flora. With over 11 hours of data collection per week, his goal is to gain deeper insights into the connections between sleep, stress, the microbiome, and other bodily functions.

The biggest challenge was connecting to the Terra API, as a wide variety of wearables such as smartwatches, fitness rings, and heart rate sensors had to be supported. In addition, Terra's complex OAuth system required clean and secure authentication.
